CLEMENT WILLIAM MILLER

Presumed Died: 25th August 1918; age 19; later accepted as KiA.

Suffolk Chronicle and Mercury – Friday, 1^st November 1918 – Able Seaman Clement William Miller (R 885), Hawke Battalion, R.N.D., B.E.F., son of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Miller, of 52, Newson Street, Ipswich, reported killed on the 25^th August, now reported missing. Any information concerning him will be greatly appreciated.

Suffolk Chronicle and Mercury – Friday, 16^th May 1919 – Clement Miller, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. William Miller, of 52, Newson Street, Ipswich, had originally been reported wounded and missing on the 25^th August 1918, is now officially assumed killed in action in France on that date. Previous to joining up, he was employed by Messrs. F. Fish and Son, Ipswich.

Occupation: Shop Porter for Messrs. Frederick Fish and Son, Ipswich.

Enlistment into Army Reserve 27th November 1916; entered 8th March 1917; drafted for B.E.F. 27th March 1918; joined 9th July 1918 – ‘C’ Company, 12th Platoon, Hawke Battalion; occupation: Shop Porter. Next of Kin: father – William G. Miller.
