On the 15th May 1937, at St. Banabas Church, Southfields, London, 27 year old Frederick, a Clerk, of 26, Wellesley Road, Ipswich, married 24 year old Ethel Helen Webberley, a Telephone Operator, of 150, Clonmore Street, SW18. Frederick’s brother, Herbert Newson, was a witness.

Ethel was born October 1912, Kensington, London – daughter of William Webberley, a hall porter (died 1918), and Helen (Nellie) Webberley (nee MacDougall), of Kensington. After the death of her father, Ethel and her siblings were placed in the Workhouse.

Aircraft: Bristol Blenheim Mk IV, T1927, took off from R.A.F. Wyton, Cambridgshire, at 01:20hrs, for a bombing sortie to Querquevelle Airfield, in France. The aircraft failed to return.
